Succession brings new ownership, but Chuck O’Dell’s core values endure

A lot has changed in the thirty years since Chuckie brought me on board as a “Fan Salesman” to the family business!  To think, I was about to enter the exciting world of accounting after receiving my B.Comm from the University of Guelph.

Shortly after I joined the business, Chuck brought in Jack Fitzmaurice as a partner to continue to grow the company. Just before Chuckie went out to pasture Jack and I hired in Nathan Martin, and a continual succession plan had started.

Nathan and I were very fortunate to have Chuck and Jack as mentors at an early age.  The business has thrived as we carried on with their same core values.  Mike Piluk became a partner and although he never worked with either of them, he knows the standards to carry on.

What started with one simple office in a house has turned into multiple offices around Southern Ontario as we continue to grow. Despite the recent events the world has been slammed with, things are very exciting at O’Dell!

I would like to welcome our two new junior partners to the business.  Ghaleb Sater who has been managing our London office and Justin Wright who has been focusing on Engineering Sales in Waterloo.

At the same time, I have stepped down as an owner of O’Dell but will continue in the same role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and continue to look after “both” of my customers. I am confident, through the direction of Nathan and Mike, that the company will continue to remain dedicated to providing exceptional service, value, expertise and commitment to make every project a success.

Just don’t mention I was on the boat when you called!
